Complete darkness opens students’ eyes to new ways of experiencing the world around them.

The sensory adventure of the Dialogue in the Dark exhibition-combined with its instructional themes of Communication, Empathy and Tolerance-offers learning opportunities across curricula. Innovative lesson plans are available for use before and after the students’ visit.

Additionally, certain Dialogue in the Dark sites provide educational workshops for school groups. Professional trainers use specially created activities to help students develop awareness of the senses, overcome fear of the dark, learn about visual impairment, increase awareness of Otherness, and begin to address social barriers.
